Lost my creativity the moment I went to a hotdog eating contest

It's been a while since,
I picked up the pen,
wrote a little something,
and called it a day.

I was too busy,
feeding on lies,
those unneeded calories,
followed by cavities,
from all the sweet-talking.

Being promised the sky,
was not what I had in mind,
such farfetched ideas,
keeping me up at night.

Now I picked up jogging,
trying to outrun your words,
skillful cavalries,
hunting me down through my memories.

Started taking remedies,
swollen extremities,
trying to keep the pace,
with the help of some old melodies.

Maybe I should try harder,
so I wrote a song,
it felt so right, but the song was all wrong.

I still go to malls in hopes of reliving that moment when we went to one together

In the middle of the night,
let me wake up,
think about you.

Get a call,
as you left from work,
let me hear your voice,
that calming noise.

Late at night, try to get the feeling right,
warm laughs hiding the neck bites,
turn on the lights, let me admire your face and your smile,
make this place feel like it's the only place where I need to be,
for a while.

Remember those three days we spent,
pleasantly sure there's no regret,
I can feel that.
Make sure you hold on to this memory, without the regrets,
but make sure you won't miss the time of the day,
where you have your phone in your hand,
cause pictures are all we have now.
Some how,
pictures are all we have now.

Late night, try to get the feeling right,
warm laughs hiding the neck bites,
turn on the lights, let me admire your face (and your beautiful smile),
make this place feel like the place where I need to be,
forever.

Although I'm at the parking lot you're still so far away from me (I'm sorry but I have to walk around every hour or so, the parking passes won't check themselves)

Fully furnished,
yet empty,
this apartment is haunted,
by the memories of that night.

I don't remember the numbers,
I only know of the water.
Nothing was washed away,
stuck like the paintings on the wall,
the burdens are mine,
all mine.

How much was wasted away,
as if the food was no good,
my brain got sick of all the stuff my eyes've been feeding on.
Feelings got to hurry,
all the trains are leaving their stations,
slowly going to the abyss.

All the planes have taken flight,
the cars have driven away,
every single ship has sailed,
the horses ran away,
only I've stayed.

Frightened and scared,
this little puppy hides,
it looks for shelter,
in a heart, not the eyes.
Yet the lies,
they make her happy,
she never really knew how to tell them apart.
The people around her laughed,
as the puppy slowly died.

As soon as the love was felt,
the puppy stood strong,
the stains were removed,
and the trains and planes returned,
the apartment felt like home,
and I,
I had you.

View of a child

Awaken, at last,
I saw the night change into day,
the silence was killed by the vigour of the world.
Peace destroyed by beauty,
I watched as the business occupied our lives.
In nights we want light,
during days we crave for darkness.
Every day is a roller coaster,
ride filled with emotions.
We want it to end,
just to remember.
